Architecture: Design (Intensive), BA

A select number of seniors in the Architecture Major enroll in the Intensive Major, which includes first-year technology courses in the graduate professional degree program. Students who have successfully completed the Intensive Major are qualified to be admitted with advanced placement into the second year of the graduate program. The Intensive Major in Architecture is for students in the Design Concentration who intend to pursue a graduate professional degree in architecture. Students in the Intensive Major enroll in their senior year in the technology courses offered in the first year of the Master of Architecture Professional Degree Program. Students in the Intensive Major who are accepted into the School of Design’s Master of Architecture Professional Degree Program are qualified to be admitted with advanced placement into the second year of the graduate program, reducing the length of study from three to two years.

The minimum total course units for graduation in this major is 36. Double majors may entail more course units.

Application requirements: At least Sophomore Standing. Please consult with the Undergraduate Chair for other important criteria.
