This minor explores the inter-relationships between Arabic and Hebrew cultures within the modern and/or medieval periods. Emphasis is paced on language facility in Arabic and/or Hebrew, alongside courses in history, religion, literature and culture.

Normally fulfilled by 2nd-year level of Arabic and Hebrew. If already proficient in one language, you must choose the other language.

Student must take either MELC 0001 (Introduction to the Ancient Middle East) or MELC 0002 (Introduction to the Middle East) as a breadth requirement. Remaining electives must include courses on Arabic and Hebrew cultures: modern and/or medieval in history, literature and religion. NOTE: No more than one PSCI course may be taken as an elective.
